Afrotista’s 3 Ways to Leave a Legacy
I found that investing in myself wasn’t just about improving my own life. It was also about creating a positive impact on the world around me. The more I developed, the more I could contribute to others through my work and my relationships. Here’s how I learned that investing in myself pays forward:
Giving Back to my Community
As I have grown, I have been able to invest in others through mentoring, sharing knowledge, or doing something to help another’s situations. I found that the investment I made in myself allowed me to give back and help those around me to achieve their own success. I strive to share what I have learned from someone or through an experience, whether it be escaping debt, learning investing, creating a stream of income, or creating a business. I didn't have anyone to teach me, I had to learn on my own and seek out individuals who modeled the life I desired to obtain key knowledge.
Impacting My Family and Relationships
I learned that by investing in my own growth, I had become a better partner, parent, and friend. I worked on improving my mindset through positive reinforcement and beliefs, emotional intelligence in handling difficult situations, and my communication skills by hearing and expressing my feelings in a healthier way to positively impact my relationships. By doing the work on myself I was able to create a ripple effect of personal growth.
Leaving a Legacy
From my mentors, I have learned that the best investments create something that lasts. Whether it’s a business I build from the ground up or a personal brand that inspires others, investing in myself is the first step in leaving a legacy that continues to make an impact long after I’ve succeeded. Through creating AFROTISTA, I strive for you to live the life you want, invest in. yourself, and feel confident in your ability to obtain it. No one is going to back you like you. I learned that I am responsible for self and the outcome of my life. In knowing that, I believe the opportunities are limitless.
While it’s easy to focus on external investments like stocks or real estate, I learned not to underestimate the power of investing in my own personal growth. To me, entrepreneurship, self-development, and acquiring new skills are the building blocks of a fulfilling and successful life. The most important thing was to begin NOW. It’s the only investment that can truly guarantee my long-term success, satisfaction, and happiness.
So, who and what will you invest in today?
